Small works for Christmas

Saturday 26th November 2011 – Saturday 29th January 2012 Call For Entries The Aberdeen Artists Society is holding an exhibition of small work by all members, Ordinary and Professional, at their premises at 39 Justice St. Aberdeen. Exhibition Opportunities Open to all Members Opening times of the exhibition Wednesday and Saturday 12pm – 4pm Hand – in day Saturday 19th November at the AGM or Wednesday 23rd November at 39 Justice St. 12 pm – 4:00pm Collection of Unsold Exhibited Work Wednesday 1st February 2012 12 pm – 4:00pm Exhibits Maximum Size All Mediums 30 cm Regulations As set out in attached sheet All works must be for sale

Aberdeen Art Fair

There was a good turn out for the first Aberdeen Art Fair. Thank you to all members who sent or delivered work for us to show alongside the framed exhibition posters and past catalogue covers. We met up with many menbers and had a number of new members sign up. It was a successful venture for AAS and part of the initiative to offer more for membership. All the works that were submitted are now at Justice Street for you to pick up at your convenience. Ring to check that the premises is open or visit during the North East Open Studio week when Ian Smart will be in residence for the duration of the event. Check the NEOS catalogue for details. Again - thank you for submitting work and in effect supporting the Art Fair as well as AAS.

REGULATIONS FOR NEOS ENTRY

NEOS Saturday 10th – Sunday 18th September REGULATIONS Number of works submitted Professional Members: up to 2 works All works should be for sale. Initial registration for Event Please fill in the Submissions Entry Form and return it with images of the work to be submitted by the 26th of August All forms should be signed. Without the artist’s signature on the form, no submitted work can be accepted by the exhibition custodian. The disclaimer indicates the acceptance of conditions of entry. Submission Entry Forms can be obtained from Aberdeen Artists Society 39 Justice Street, AB11 5HS. tel: 01224 646700 email: info@aberdeenartistssociety.co.uk or iansmart1@tiscali.co.uk Images (non-returnable) can be accepted in the following forms: (i) good quality print photograph marked with your name, title of work and an arrow in the bottom left hand corner for orientation (ii) On CD. saved in jpeg format with ‘your name, title of work.jpg’ as the file names (Please mail all hard copy and CD’s to the address at the foot of the application form) (iii) By e-mail. saved in JPEG format with ‘your name, title of work.jpg’ as the file names at 300 dpi resolution. Selection All works submitted will go through a selection process where the decision to accept or reject is final. Artists will be advised of the selection decision as soon as possible. Registration Fees and Commission. There will be no registration fees for this exhibition All sales will be subject to 30% commission. Exhibits Maximum Framed Size 60 cm. Artists must bring their notification letter when collecting their works. Opening times throughout NEOS Week Wednesday – Saturday 10 am – 5pm Publicity and Copyright The artist will retain copyright of all work. Aberdeen Artists Society reserves all rights to reproduce works on promotional material. Promotional material will not be offered for sale. Responsibility and Risks While all reasonable care is taken of works submitted, such works are at all times at the artist’s risk. Whether or not works are accepted for the Exhibition, the Society shall not be responsible for any loss or damage, however caused, either during or awaiting transit to and from the Exhibition, or during any period of storage, packing or unpacking or any period in which the work may be in the care and control of the Society. Artists themselves are advised to arrange proper and adequate insurance to cover against these risks. Disposal of abandoned works All works left uncollected after the pick-up date will become the property of the society and will be disposed of by sale or otherwise.
